What I do:
-
Maria Montessori’s education model is all based on something a child once said to her: “Help me to do it myself.”
Through years of professional nannying, Cara has been a first hand witness to the phenomena of child independence through exercises in life skills and auto-education.
The philosophy behind her work and Kiddish provides tools for the child and parent that are not only effective in potty training, but through life.
-
Cara’s methods are drawn from her thousands of hours spent in research of childhood development, psychology, education, and mindful parenting practices.
Cara draws from potty training methods seen in early civilizations, Montessori, and other contemporary practices to create individualized approaches for her clients that are proven to yield results.
-
Cara uses specific tools to see where the child is at developmentally and emotionally, in order to help them in the most appropriate way.
In potty training, big emotions are prevalent that may result in anxiety, resistance and challenging behavior.
Cara implements mindfulness techniques that are psychologist approved to establish a mind-body connection.
-
Cara has worked with countless families through her potty training work, but countless more through her past experience in nannying and education.
Her service is based upon what has proven to work in real homes of real clients.
As a professional potty trainer, I team up with parents to troubleshoot, investigate and guide them through this sometimes difficult transition. We work together to implement tried and true toilet training methods, parenting tools and behavior modifications so your family can get back to life as soon as possible.
Cara Smith
Cara is passionate about creating systems that promote child independence, learning and emotional growth.
She created Kiddish to help parents lead their children through this sometimes tumultuous transition with confidence. Her process not only gets rid of diapers— it creates the space to learn and teach a functional life skill.
